JUNIOR IN-HOUSE 5-12
PLAYING JUNIOR IN-HOUSE AT BBAFC
2021 Season Start Date 8th May! Last round 18th September. Annual end of season In-house tournament 25th and 26th September.
Our Junior football for ages 5 to 8 play in-house at Lloyd Elsmore. It is an option for 9 to 12 year olds to play in either In-house or commence representative football playing against other clubs in the AFF (Auckland Football Federation) competitions.
The In-house competition is a competition between other BBAFC teams so there is no traveling involved. You can play with your mates, make up a team and have some fun.
All games are played on a Saturday morning at Lloyd Elsmore Park. The format sees players placed in a team for the year. A typical Saturday morning will consist of skills based drills in alignment with NZF (New Zealand Football) Junior Football Framework and finish with a fun game between teams.
Teams are mixed with boys and girls and attempts are made to make the teams even in competition, however at this age the emphasis is placed on having fun.
Coaches tend to be a mixture of enthusiastic parents and some of our old youth players giving back to the kids. There is an optional midweek coaching clinic known as 'Grassroots'. Additionally some coaches run their own training sessions.
Every player is required to purchase the In-house playing kit that consists of:
Shirts (pack of two shirts - yellow and blue home and away) $35
You can purchase the In-house kit when registering.
Due to the 2020 playing season being reduced by Covid the club has decided to reduce the fees for 2021 to $140 for In-house.
The season generally runs from early April until the end of August. We finish the season with a much anticipated tournament for the in-house teams.
We play the first and last weekends of the school holidays and there is no play in the middle weekend on the holidays.

NZ FOOTBALL JUNIOR FRAMEWORK
From 2020 BBAFC has been implementing and following the New Zealand Football's Junior Framework.
The New Zealand Junior Framework provides a consistent, coordinated national approach to the development of junior players. Its main aim is to provide all junior players with high quality football experiences that increase both skill levels and the passion for playing football. Through the Junior Framework, players will experience age appropriate football games and coaching in a programme that is specifically tailored to meet their football wants and needs. Through standardised playing formats, clear outcomes and training recommendations for each stage of a players development, alignment will be achieved across New Zealand in Junior Football as well as increased support for volunteer coaches. The importance of the Junior Framework cannot be underestimated. Implemented with commitment at all levels, it will ensure the experience provided at the grassroots leaves Kiwi kids enthused, technically competent and in love with our game.

"As a kid growing up there was nothing I loved more than playing football with my friends. Having fun scoring goals, trying new skills and copying out football heroes helped me fall in love with the game"
