Welcome to the BBAFC 2008 pre-season newsletter from the club committee. All of us involved in the running of the club hope you and your families have had an enjoyable holiday season. It seems only yesterday we finished the 2007 season and here we are now getting organized for another one. Changes have been made yet again to the BBAFC website (www.bbafc.org.nz) with the introduction of the Club Hub data base management system to allow on line enrolment with payment of subs via credit card or internet banking. This system involves your on-line entry of all the players’ details directly into a data base which all coaches and grade administrators will have access to. This is our preferred method of receiving your information and payment as it is linked to the club data base. Please make use of this system so that the enrolment process can be streamlined and more efficient. An important point to note, no player will be registered without receipt of payment in full. Should you prefer, the registration can be completed on line and a cheque posted. This will incur a handling fee and the player will not be allocated to a team until payment is confirmed. The junior section of the club is still in need of individual grade conveners. The smooth running of the junior section relies on volunteers and the more of these we have the easier it is for all involved. Please consider this when making your enrolment. Parents, please remember that we always struggle to get enough coaches and managers to take teams. It takes up a large amount of the convener’s time trying to get coaches and the sooner you let us know you can help before the season the better. All grades from 9th up will be required to trial this year. The trial dates are listed below. We would ask that coaches of these grades who are going to coach again attend the trials to help in the grading process. We want to achieve the best possible grading of the players and the more people attending who know the players the easier the job will become. Parents please remember that the club has a strict code of conduct for all players which is listed on the website and action will be taken with any players in breach of these rules. Please note that this code of conduct also applies to parents and supporters. We are pleased to announce the famous BBAFC quiz night will take place again this year through the hard efforts of Charles Ferguson and his crew. This is a great fun night and also a great fund raiser for the Taupo soccer trip. On a final note, keep a regular check on the club website in the coming months for more information. During the season use the Soccer2 website for information on fixtures and cancellations also. IMPORTANT DATES 17/02/2008 – Club house open for enrolments from 10 am to 1 pm. Late February – Enrolments close. 30/03/2008 – Junior open day for 6th. 7th and 8th grades – meet the coaches. Season start to be advised. BBAFC Committee. |
