Sponsorship Information 16/05/08

If you are enquiring regarding sponsoring a team; below is a guideline to what is involved.

We all share the same goal of wanting the club to be recognized as a successful football club by all its members and the public.  To achieve this we need to ensure that our guidelines are followed when sponsoring a team and using the club’s logo.

All merchandise that is sponsored must either be the official club sourced merchandise or be in the club’s colours and approved by the committee before purchase.

Prior approval is needed from the committee regarding the logo or wording that is being printed onto the merchandise.

The club’s logo must be reproduced exactly as shown and cannot be altered in anyway.  You are required to use the clubs embroiderers to do the embroidering so the clubs guidelines are followed.

Bucklands Beach Football Club is excited at the opportunity of working with you as a club approved sponsor.

All enquires please contact:

The format will be very much the same with tables of 8 at a cost of $20 per person. There is a limit to the numbers of tickets available and in past years they have sold reasonably quickly. If you are interested in joining us for the evening please send a cheque payable to BBAFC for $160 (1 table) to either  BBAFC  PO Box 54-123  Half Moon Bay Auckland or alternatively Charles Ferguson 1/47 Devon Road Bucklands Beach.

Team Prizes, Auction Prizes and Raffle prizes are all required so if you feel you can contribute in some way  or require further information please contact me (Charles Ferguson) on 5352166. Any donations are much appreciated.

Please note that Fancy Dress whilst not compulsory is becoming more and more the norm. So dress up for a chance of a prize.

Tickets will be available from June 10th onwards but you can still reserve a table through me.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Quiz Night 06/08/07
The quiz night is over for yet another year and looks like we will be back again next year. To all those that attended, assisted ,contributed prizes and those that made donations,on behalf of the club, a huge thank you for being part of what was yet another success. The guest speaker, Eric Rush, was a huge bonus and judging from the reactions I believe everyone enyoyed that part of it immensly. Many thanks to Richard Stead for organising that side of the evening's entertainment.

The event was held this year to raise money for Cure Kids and was done as a gesture of thanks to the Heywood family in recognition of the huge contribution to BBAFC of Carey Heywood the past President who passed away last year. The final figure will be made known to everyone when all monies have been collected but at this stage the sum raised looks to be significant and I believe it is something we can be proud of as a club.

Once again thanks to all who supported the event and see you next year.

8th Grade Winners! 22/9/06

An 8th grade Bucklands Beach selection team is celebrating their success after winning 5 games on their way to taking out a plate final at the Birkenhead tournament on 17 September 2006. This was a keenly contested competition as 24 rep teams vied for the top honours. A most enjoyable day and a result long to be savoured thanks to the enthusiastic support from all the parents and family members who attended.

2006 Junior Wrap-Up 19/9/06

Well our season has finally been completed in wet and sometimes cold conditions. A huge thank you to coaches, players and supporters for there efforts on the closing day tournament. Even though the conditions were miserable we did not have a single complaint. We were committed to getting a result due to the grounds been closed for 3 weeks after the weekend.

I would particularly like to say that the silver grade players in the final showed great determination and spirit considering they were playing their fifth game of the day.

The season has gone very smoothly and despite the early wet start we have enjoyed some great Saturday mornings and I am sure you will all agree that the kids have really enjoyed themselves.

Looking forward to next year we are expecting an increased membership in the juniors and will have plans in place to be sure we can hopefully accommodate all returning and new players.

For the 7th grade players this year who will be playing 8th grade in 2007. We are looking into the possibility of changing the format of this grade to 6 or 7 a side with a goalie and bigger goals. One of the driving factors of this is that the club is dropping out of Tamaki League next year for the 9th grade and all 9th and 10th grade players will play in the 6 divisions of Soccer2 10th grade. The 6 divisions cater for all skill levels so do not be alarmed about your children playing against 10 year olds. Please do not hesitate to email me with any questions about the effect of this.

I am looking forward to a break from the soccer for a while but will also look forward to being back next season to do it all again.

Remember to watch the website for the AGM date as new people are always required to help the committee.

If you have not yet registered your child for the Coerver coaching and wish to do so then please do it quickly.

Thanks to all involved and have a great summer.

See you next year, Mike Nevines – Junior Convener BBAFC

Weir Rosebowl Regional Team Selection 31/7/06

4 players have made it past the first selection process for the Regional team for the Weir Rosebowl competition. This is a national comp played later this year. The players are

Luke Hislop-Wilkens
Christopher Dunn
Jack Elliott
Simon Ferguson

From the initial trial, they and other selected players made up from a number of clubs from the eastern zone, were formed into teams . The next step was a tournament that was held 2 weekends ago where the east played teams from other zones. And from there a further selection would be made. The club is proud of these players and to those others from the club that made the initial selection. All the players are to be advised this week and we wish them the best of luck for the next selection process.

Season Gets under way for Girls 17th Grade team 01/04/06

The girls 17th grade team have time for a quick team photo before taking on Ellerslie in the first game of the season. Not withstanding a new mix to the team makeup, the girls put on a great show and took the game 5 - 0.   As the team blends over the next weeks, we can look forward to some exciting football, and hopefully they will be able to continue the legacy of divisional champions.

Well done girls, for the first of the season.
