Who we are

BBAFC is a Junior/Youth (ages 5 through under 19) soccer club based on the Bucklands Beach peninsular in East Auckland.

Our Junior players (ages 5 to 8) play against other teams within the club. Youth teams play against teams from other clubs throughout Auckland.

In the 2003 season, we had 495 playing members (up from 420 in 2002). We fielded 53 teams including 3 girls teams.

Directions: From Pakuranga Road, turn into Bucklands Beach Road (Highland Park shopping center intersection). Continue until you pass a Shell service station on the left. Turn right, just past the Shell, into Eastern Beach Road. Second on the left is Jern Place.

History of Soccer

Games similar to soccer were played in China as many as 2,400 years ago. The style of soccer we enjoy today was first played by English schoolchildren in the early 1800s.
Today, soccer is played by millions of people worldwide in more than 130 countries, making it the most popular sport in the world.
The first attempt to standardize the rules of soccer was made in Cambridge in the 1840s. In 1863, the Football Association established the first uniform set of rules for soccer. The governing body of world soccer, the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), was created in 1904.
